Reason for delay in appointment

According to the Education Department, the Patna High Court, while hearing a petition, had put a stay on the appointment process of Assistant Professor which had been going on for three years. The High Court had said that reservation for the general category is less than 50 percent of the total appointments.

A reply was sought from the Education Department in this regard. The Education Department has given a reply on this. It said that the total vacancies also include backlog vacancies.

The court had also ordered that backlog and ongoing vacancies be separated. Then the Education Department listed the current vacancies as 3353 and backlog vacancies as 755 and also submitted the report in the court. Now the final decision is yet to come from the High Court in the light of this report

Appointment stopped on reservation issue

Patna High Court had stopped this three-year-long process of Assistant Professor after a petition. It was said that the reservation for general category in total appointments is less than 50 percent. In this context, a reply was sought from the Education Department.
