Eligibility Details:

  • Education: Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from a government-recognized university or institute:
    • Diploma in Engineering in fields such as Electronics, Electronics & Tele-communication, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Applications.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science with main subjects being Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications (BCA).
  • Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years old as of September 14, 2025. Age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), as per government norms. For instance, SC/ST candidates may receive a relaxation of up to 5 years, and OBC candidates up to 3 years.
  • Salary Details: The Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical position falls under Pay Level 4 of the pay matrix, with a basic pay range of ₹25,500 to ₹81,100. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates are entitled to various allowances, including a Special Security Allowance (SSA) which is 20% of the basic pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA). Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The selection process for the IB JIO Recruitment 2025 consists of three stages:

  1. Tier I: Online Examination (Computer-Based Test)
  2. Tier II: Skill Test
  3. Tier III: Interview/Personality Test

Tier I Exam Pattern:

  • Type: Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Sections:
    • General Mental Ability: 25 questions (25% weightage)
    • Technical Subjects (as per essential qualifications): 75 questions (75% weightage)
  • Negative Marking: A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Qualifying Marks (Tier I): Minimum cut-off marks are UR-35, OBC-34, SC/ST-33, and EWS-35.

Tier I Syllabus:

  • General Mental Ability: This section covers topics such as Indian History, Current Affairs, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Important Days and Dates, Number System, Percentage, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Mixture and Alligation, Data Interpretation, Coding-Decoding, Series, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, English Vocabulary, Cloze Test, and Error spotting.
  • Technical Subjects: Questions will be based on the essential qualifications.
    • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering: Electronic Components & Materials, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Digital Electronics, Linear Integrated Circuit, Electronic Measurements, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Communication Engineering, Data Communication and Network, Basic Electrical Engineering, Computer Programming.
    • Computer Science Engineering: Computer Fundamentals, Computer Organization, System Analysis and Design, C Language, Information Systems, DBMS fundamentals, Data and Network Communication, Java Programming, Data Structure using C++, Operating System using LINUX, System Programming, Web Technologies and Programming, MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel & MS-PowerPoint, Software Engineering.
    • Mathematics: Trigonometry, Cartesian System of Rectangular Coordinates, Statistics, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Definite Integrals, Exponential and Log Series, Sets and Set Theory, Probability, Function, Circles, Relations and Functions, Logarithms, Sequences and Series, Conic Sections, Permutations and Combinations.

Tier II Skill Test: This stage is practical-based and technical, designed to assess skills commensurate with the job profile. It carries a weightage of 30 marks.

Tier III Interview/Personality Test: This final stage evaluates the candidate’s communication skills, problem-solving ability, and overall suitability for the role. This stage is for 20 marks.
